It's nothing short of a miracle: 32 people, 40 pieces of luggage, on seven different flights through five different cities all made it safely to the Dominican.
God promised: "I will go before you...so that you may know that I am the Lord...who calls you by name" (Isaiah 45).
We expect the week ahead of us to be filled with the same kinds of moments--so that we may know that He is God, that He loves us, and He calls us to a life beyond what we could ask or imagine.
Tonight we have the option of going to bed early or going to a New Year's Eve worship service at the mission's church. When you welcome the new year, we will be doing the same in the village of Cielo.
Feliz Año Nuevo!
So glad you all arrived safely. Happy New Year from sunny Rockford. Have an amazing time today preparing for your week and going to the baseball game tonight! Praying for you all!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, everyone!!! So happy you all made it safely. I am thinking of you and praying for you all. Right now, you are worshipping together at Mission Emanuel. What a glorious privilege and blessing. I hope you got to hug a lot of kids and play on the streets of Cielo. I hope that, as you walk the streets and see the families and the the sites you will be working, you will all be moved to "love like the rain". Put on your "God goggles" and see the adults who need love as well as the children. Give them smiles and care. Pray for opportunities to share Christ with them. I am so proud of all of you and know that God is going to do amazing things in and through you this week! Love from home. Dara
